Our Whoosh Philosophy

At Whoosh we believe the child’s best interests should be at the core of everything we do. When we collaborate with children to design and create experiences, we ensure that they look forward to their time with us.

As Educators, we strive to deliver industry best-practice at our services, in our programming, internal processes and interactions with children and families. We are committed to continuous improvement via professional development and reflection.

Lastly, we believe in creating a welcoming environment where children and families are treated with respect and where they feel supported. We take pride in the development of partnerships based on trusting, positive and open communication. We value the development of strong links between children, families, educators, the school and the local community.

Whoosh Care Commitment to Child Safety Statement

At Whoosh, our commitment to child safety is unwavering as we uphold the 10 Child Safe Principles. We are dedicated to ensuring the safety, participation, and empowerment of children by fostering an environment and culture that promotes their well-being, physical health, and safety. We will always respect each child’s autonomy, right to privacy, dignity, and right to play in a safe and nurturing environment.

At Whoosh, we respect and support all children, families, our team, and volunteers. Our commitment extends to working closely with educators and families to foster safe environments and mitigate the risk of harm for children in our services. From the moment a child is enrolled, or an educator is employed, to our collaboration with families, local agencies, and communities, we are dedicated to achieving positive outcomes for children.

Whoosh has zero tolerance for child abuse, and all allegations and safety concerns will be treated seriously and consistently as outlined in our Child Protection and Child-Safe policies and procedures. Whoosh is committed to engaging team members in training and education to identify risks and promote children’s safety. Whoosh also commits to the legal and moral obligation to contact authorities when we are concerned about a child’s safety.

Whoosh is committed to the cultural safety of Indigenous children, the cultural safety of children from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, and to providing a safe environment for children with a disability.
